Trail Rides

Plan a week-end and visit the Lake of Three Fires just northeast of Bedford, Iowa. The Lake offers many miles of horse trails, overnight camping in either campgrounds or equestrian areas, and newly built cabins are also available.  Wildlife is abundant...trail riders have seen brand-newborn fawns, hanging possums, the "Vulture Tree," herds of deer, and more memorable sites.  It isn't uncommon to count deer in the 20's, 30's and 40's during fall rides.

Moonlight trail rides are scheduled once a month in the fall and winter.  With only the moon to light the way, enjoy the rest of your senses and your horse as you travel around the lake's edge and through the trees.
